1. About Sip Local
Sip Local is a winery-discovery and trail-planning service operated by Anna Howard trading as Sip Local in New Zealand.
Contact us through the Contact form or siplocalwine@gmail.com.
Sip Local provides information and planning tools. It does not sell or supply alcohol or provide transport. Bookings made with wineries or transport providers are made with those providers.
2. Eligibility
You must be aged 18 or over to use Sip Local.
The entry screen is a self-declared age confirmation, not verified proof of age. Wineries and other providers apply their own entry, identification and booking requirements.
3. Free and premium features
Sip Local offers free features and paid premium membership. The Membership page explains the features included in each option.
Public browsing does not require an account. An account and the appropriate entitlement are required for saved and premium features.
Selected users may receive complimentary premium access. Complimentary access does not automatically become a paid subscription. Payment requires an explicit purchase action.
4. Membership
Premium membership is NZ$39 per year and renews automatically annually unless cancelled before renewal.
Recurring charges are clearly disclosed before purchase. Complimentary users are not silently converted to paid membership.
The Membership, Cancellation & Refunds page forms part of these terms.
5. Accounts and acceptable use
Keep your login credentials secure and provide accurate account information.
Do not attempt to access another person’s records, bypass access restrictions, disrupt the app or use it unlawfully.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse or security concerns. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and provide a way to contact us.
6. Winery information and maps
Hours, prices, experiences, availability and visitor arrangements can change. Check important details directly with the winery before travelling or booking.
Map pins, directions and trail lines are planning aids. Some locations remain under review. Confirm the visitor entrance and destination before setting off.
A line connecting trail stops is not necessarily a navigable road, walking or cycling route.
7. Responsible enjoyment and transport
Enjoy responsibly. Plan safe transport, and stay sober if driving or cycling.
Transport links open Google searches. Results are not vetted, endorsed or booked by Sip Local. Confirm suitability, availability, costs and safety directly with the provider.
8. External services
Winery websites, maps, payment services, transport providers and other external services have their own terms and privacy policies.
Bookings and purchases made with other providers are agreements with them. Their cancellation and refund arrangements apply.
9. Images and featured listings
Some regional and winery images are AI-generated illustrative images and do not depict the actual listed property or an exact geographic location.
Featured placement does not guarantee quality or availability. Paid placements, where offered, will be clearly identified as sponsored.
10. Your information
Our Privacy Statement explains how personal information is handled. Please do not include sensitive information in trail notes or enquiries.
11. Availability and changes
We take reasonable care in operating Sip Local, but availability may be affected by maintenance, technical issues or external providers.
We will take reasonable steps to notify affected users of material changes to paid features. Such changes do not remove any applicable consumer rights.
12. Consumer rights and responsibility
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including those under applicable New Zealand consumer law.
Sip Local remains responsible for its own obligations under applicable law.
13. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms as the service develops and will notify users of material changes where appropriate.
New Zealand law applies, subject to any mandatory rights applicable to the user.
